St Thomas More School - Bedford
New 12 Classroom Block
The brief was to provide a new self contained 12 classroom
building to replace 8 temporary classrooms and to provide a
further 4 classrooms to accommodate potential future
increases in pupil numbers.
The school was keen to maximise the benefits of standardisation and modularisation. The building has therefore been planned on modular principles in order to maximise offsite construction. The specialist modular contractor could minimise time on site and therefore carry out most of the site work during summer term time. This greatly reduced the impact of any construction work on the operation of the school up to this time. Work completed in August 2018.
